IF YOU CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHAT’S GOING ON HERE - READ THIS DESCRIPTION.
This was inspired by the essay “Meditations on Moloch” written by transhumanist Scott Alexander.
The author speaks about the possible risks for our civilization, which can lead to misery and extinction. He states that the system can’t be effectively changed from the inside, only a powerful agent which stands out of it and has no need to compete with the others can force the civilization to behave… nicely. In the essay, such a creature is called “the Gardener” (cause it looks after the rationally-planned utopian “garden” it created). The author assumes that a strong AI can take this place.slatestarcodex.com/2014/07/30/…
Read it, it`s cool.
Well… I fully agree with the majority of the ideas from the text. I even have my own “Gardener” in my setting
It is a strong AI, which controls synthetic organics-based bodies (they’re made of nanorobots, which are equal in complexity to organic cells). Although, unlike the example from the essay, my OC wasn’t made by humans. These are its creators: fav.me/d7y4pzf
You can see this type of a drone in the picture: fav.me/d9vrdj1
While the “human interface” body looks like this:

Yep, it prefers to be identified as “she”. You can call her Vick
In the drawing, a drone is carrying a captive offender (a symbol of the wrong, faulty old world), who had an unpleasant meeting with her tail or a thing she is holding in her fourth hand (it is a non-lethal weapon, something like a tranquilizer rifle or stun gun – my OC is a nice and humane being, she is a progressor after all
The girl holding drone’s hand (finger, to be more exact) is a saved victim of “the old world” and the symbol of the new one. Maybe, she is one of Vick’s closest followers – humans, augmented with alien technology.
And there is also a cat. Cause everything is better with cats.
The logo on the rocket means “International Space Agency”. Cause globalization is nearly as cool as cats.
It flies to Mars, I suppose.
